PLEASE READ!!!!! Would give less than one star if possible. It makes me sad to write this as I almost feel bad for this man, but in all honesty I had horrible experiences seeing Dr. Rai. I shouldn't have gone back but liked the other doctors so I took my chances, and soon learned to ask for another doctor upon arrival. The other doctors are great, but he was extremely cold and rude. Not something I would expect from a doctor EVER. It seems like he is very aggravated with his job, as he barely let me speak at all. I understand walk in doctors (and all doctors for that matter) are extremely busy, but the others are somehow able to at least enter the room, ask you the reason for your visit, and give you just a few moments to respond. Dr. Rai opened the door, stood in the DOORWAY, and from the doorway said "show me the moles" in the most abrasive tone I've ever witnessed from a doctor. I was a shocked to be honest. During another visit, I was laughed at and MOCKED for my reasoning behind wanting to lower my dose of birth control, and amidst his condescending chuckles he blurted out something along the lines of "you'll basically be having a therapeutic abortion in the future." I was extremely offended, and brought to tears afterwards in the parking lot to be quite honest. He was extremely rude, condescending, abrasive, ANGRY , seemed annoyed, and just plain cold. Not once did he inquire whether I was even sexually active or not...I was not planning on having any sort of abortion in the future, so that comment was completely uncalled for. Not to mention the fact that he has no idea whether I have had to undergo an abortion in the past or not, and should never laughingly say anything like that to anyone. He completely lacked any sort empathy and sensitivity of any kind. He also disregarded my concerns about how the birth control was affecting my well-being. He stated that "the difference in your symptoms (if I were to lower your dose/or switch to a different kind) would be like the difference between a grain of sand and a pebble"-to me that's a fairly large difference, considering my symptoms are serious. That was why I was there-to see if there were any other options/find relief from my symptoms even if it were the slightest bit. On top of all of this, he did not keep ANY record of certain complaints, as he did not treat them. He kept records of the moles-since I asked him to please come closer...and once he did he was finally able to make note of one that was of concern. If you see any doctor here, be sure it is NOT DR. RAI. Also, BE SURE TO CLEARLY STATE WHAT YOU ARE VISITING FOR OR ELSE THERE WILL BE ABSOLUTELY NO RECORD OF IT IN THE FUTURE (if they chose not to treat your concern like he did). For example: rather than stating "I am here to decrease my dose of birth control" state the SYMPTOMS that you are experiencing as your REASON FOR VISIT, and MAKE SURE THIS IS WHAT THEY NOTE ON YOUR RECORDS. It will make your life easier when specialists are looking to gather previous records. Of course seeing a family doctor is ideal in these situations, but not always possible if you are in town for school, just moved, etc. etc. After reading other reviews, it is worth mentioning that I also saw Dr. Rai (reluctantly, before I realized you can request another doctor) for an ear infection. He PROCEEDED to push his instrument into my ear AFTER I said "ouch that hurts" and was pulling away. Then proceeded to tell me that I had "caused this problem by shoving a q-tip into my ear." He TOLD me I did this, he never once asked if I use q-tips (which I don't). He sent me home, and I went straight to another walk in. The second doctor was extremely helpful/kind/empathetic and luckily didn't charge for the second visit within 24 hours as I had explained my experience with Dr. Rai. They put me on antibiotic ear drops immediately. I must mention: I am not a fan of doctors over-prescribing antibiotics. But I knew something was wrong as I TRIED to explain to Dr. Rai I am not prone to ear infections...and something definitely feels wrong.
